Colored Mohawks, green and yellow face paint, leather attire with chains attached while holding snakes in their hands was a common look for the San Jose SaberCat fans game versus the Arizona Rattlers.

As the camera man zoomed into the crowd there were many people holding fake snakes pretending to bite the heads off their components, it was clear that the SaberCat fans were there to win with no exceptions.

"A lot of fans weren't able to go to New Orleans with us" for ArenaBowl XXI last July, quarterback Mark Grieb said. "Before the game the crowd was just great. They cheered when the trophy came out and the banner came down. It was fun for them."

This was the first home opener game for the season so fans were overwhelmed and extremely excited to have the honor to watch their 2007 ArenaBowl Champions in action.

“This was my first SaberCat game and the energy that the crowd brought seemed like it really boosted the way the player’s played, which even led them to their win since they probably didn’t want to let down their fans,” said Bryan Burke a San Jose State University student.

Throughout the whole game the SaberCats managed to stay ahead against the Arizona Rattlers, ending the game with a victory of 63-43.

In fact, this is the SaberCats 15th consecutive home game win.

The season started with a rough start against the Chicago Rush but things seem to be looking up for these SaberCats (2-1) with their next game on Saturday, March 22 against the Dallas Desperado at the HP Pavilion.
